Here at Tech Trade, we have a range of refurbished MacBook Pro M1 and M2 models, which offer you Apple’s beautiful design and performance, but without having to pay a premium price. The MacBook Pro M1 was launched by Apple in 2020 and was the first MacBook to feature Apple’s new M1 chip. It utilised 8 CPU cores and 8 GPU cores, resulting in it being 2.8x faster than the previous 2019 generation of MacBook Pros. The MacBook Pro M1 also featured a 13.3” retina display for sharper images, up to a 2 TB hard drive and a lengthy battery life of 17–20 hours.
The MacBook Pro M1 range was then expanded in 2021 with 14” and 16” options becoming available. More than just the display size was increased, though, with Apple including options to use the M1 Pro or M1 Max chips. Both of these M chips options are significantly more powerful chip than the original M1, with Apple stating that the M1 Pro chip is up to 70% faster when compared to the previous iteration.
In 2022, Apple released their new MacBook Pro, which featured the upgraded M2 chip, which, like the M1 Pro, utilises 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. The new and improved M2 chip saw a slight increase in performance and a significant increase in the chip’s efficiency. Apple claims that the M2 adds a 20% increase in performance when compared to the M1 Pro.
Like the MacBook Pro M1, the MacBook Pro M2 starts with 256 GB of storage, with options to increase it to 2 TB, meaning there is plenty of room to store large files, which can be useful for those who work with photos or videos.
In 2023, Apple expanded the M2 range and introduced the MacBook Pro M2 Max, which utilises Apple’s new M2 Max chip. The new chip boasts an incredible 12-core CPU and 19-core GPU, which can be configured to a 38-core GPU. Needless to say, this machine offers more performance than both the MacBook Pro M2 and M2 Pro. However, this does come at a significantly higher price.
